After many years of training in the Bujinkan, Shidoshi Brent Earlewine and Shidoshi Dave Fetterman came to realize that there appeared to be a distinct lack of solid, basic reference material available out in our community. As everyone persued higher levels of the teaching, some of the roots and cores seemed to get lost. In gratitude of those who have walked the path of Budo before us, and for all of the knowledge they have shared with us, we felt it was only right to turn around and share with those coming up the ranks behind us.

The Living Densho
With this thought in mind, we have created the Living Densho series of DVD titles. All of the titles in this series are geared to providing solid referenceable material on a myriad of subject matters. In particular, we have focused on what we have labelled the Essentials of Budo Taijutsu. This includes information on the foundation of Budo Taijutsu and in depth looks at some of the key Ryu's within the Bujinkan. To assist with the translation of Taijutsu to working with weapons, we have also introduced a collection of titles for most of the weapons we tend to work with in our community.

  • We are truly in the Golden Age of Martial Arts. The new medium of video has allowed us to create a living, breathing way to pass along referenceand training material from one generation to the next. Of course, video will NEVER replace the knowledge gained from a certified instructor live in the Dojo, however, it can and does act as a baseline that you can always bring yourself back to.

We also believe that every instructor should be able to teach and be responsible for the information they have learned up until this point. Foundations give you structure and support. And a Divine House can't be built without a strong solid foundation! We hope you enjoy our interpretation of this training material. Any errors or omissions are our own responsibility. As you train with other certified instructors, you will see many variations and perspectives on material. Welcome those myriad perspectives and enjoy!
